Hi, we're off on our travels and as promised this is a bit of a picture diary showing where we've been and what we've been doing (no, it's not all pictures of us boozing).

Our first stop was the Drum Inn, a handy hostelry with a small camp site attached. It's only a minute or so off the M20 and about 25 minutes from the port at Dover (much closer still to the Eurotunnel).

The Drum does decent pub grub and provides a last chance for a few pints of good English ale before having to make do with eurofizz.

We made an early (for us) start for the Dover - Dunkirk ferry getting to the port in time to catch the 8am sailing as opposed to the 10am crossing we had booked. We had an OK English breakfast on board that was a bit on the cold side but it at least set us up for the drive to Spa.

The run across Belgium was uneventful with quite heavy traffic on the Brussels ring road. The scenery wasn't up to much until we reached the Ardennes region which is typified by the photos we took at the Formula 1 meeting.
